What to expect on the TestAS (Germany)

Overall difficulty

High — tests mental speed, numerical agility, and analytical problem-solving under strict time constraints.

Question style

Multiple-choice (4 or 5 options). Mathematical word problems, sequence rules, verbal analogies, and technical diagram interpretation.

Time per question

~2.5 minutes per quantitative word problem, ~1.5 minutes per sequence and relation question.

What this platform covers

Core Test: Quantitative Problems (rates, ratios, percentages, work problems)
Core Test: Inferring Relations & Verbal Analogies
Core Test: Continuing Numerical Series (arithmetic, geometric, interleaved sequences)
Engineering Module: Formalizing technical relationships, mass/energy conservation, circuit interpretation

What it does not cover

The current digital TestAS core subtests. g.a.s.t. now sets Figure Sequences, Mathematical Equations and Latin Squares — 20 items and 25 minutes each, 60 in total. Our core material still teaches the older paper-based style (visual matrices and numerical series) and draws 25, so it does not match the test you will sit.
Choosing a single subject module. The real TestAS has you sit ONE module; our practice combines Engineering and Economics into one block.

Exam-day tips

1In Numerical Series, calculate the differences between adjacent terms first before testing multiplicative rules.
2In Quantitative Word Problems, set up algebraic equations immediately rather than plugging in answer choices.
3No negative penalty for wrong answers — answer every single question before time expires.
4Target a standardized score above 110 for top-ranked German public universities (TUM, LMU, RWTH Aachen).
