Parte 1 di 1
In uniform linear motion, an object moves along a straight path at constant velocity v, so acceleration a = 0. Displacement is given by s = v × t, yielding a linear position-time graph with slope v.
On a velocity-time (v-t) graph, the slope of the curve represents the instantaneous acceleration a = Δ v / Δ t. Crucially, the definite integral (geometric area) bounded between the curve and the time axis equals the net displacement.
Uniform Motion
s = v × t
Zero acceleration, constant speed
v-t Graph Slope
Slope = Acceleration a
Flat horizontal line indicates zero acceleration
v-t Graph Area
Area under curve = Displacement s
Geometric shapes (rectangles, triangles) give distance
Esempio svolto
1.On a velocity-time graph, the area between the curve and the time axis represents displacement.
2.An object returning to its starting position after moving for 10 seconds has a non-zero average velocity.
